Biography

Shy, lovely, petite girl, Esha Deol is the new kid on Bollywood's block. Backed by powerful artists like Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Sunny Deol & Bobby Deol. She is eldest daughter of Dharmendra and Dream Girl Hema Malini. She has her mother?s beauty and her father?s acting sensibilities to make her own name.

The extremely talented actress came to limelight when she turned down films like Mohabbatein and Hey Ram. Besides working in movies, Esha is an accomplished classical dancer, National Level football player. The multitalented actress is all set to storm the film industry.

Esha Deol made her debut with the movie "Koi Mere Dil Se Pooche". The film was unsuccessful at box office but she went on to win Filmfare Best Debutant Award for her performance. After that a series of unsuccessful films followed. Isha Deol's first successful film at box office was "Dhoom". Since then she has given two more hit films "Kaal" and "No Entry". She was nominated for Filmfare Best Villain (Female) Award for her performance in "Ankahee". She also featured in Tamil film "Ayitha Ezhuthu" directed by Mani Ratnam. Esha Deol gave rocking performance in the movie "Yuva" opposite Ajay Devgan. Esha Deol is set to star in her mother's next directorial venture with Rekha and Abhishek Bachchan and also a film in which her mother and she will be starring together for the first time.

Vinay Shukla?s Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe (2002) was her first movie and her performance won her the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award. She had two other releases in 2002, Na Tum Jaano Na Hum with Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan and a romcom Kya Dil Ne Kahan with Tusshar Kapoor.

In 2003, she was part of a slasher flick Kuch To Hai and was seen opposite her childhood friend Zayed Khan in Chura Liya Hai Tumne. Her first Tamil movie was Mani Rathnam?s Aayutha Ezhuthu (2004), which was remade later in Hindi as Yuva and Esha was the only actor who was cast in both. Dhoom (2004) was a huge hit and she played Sheena, a bad girl who turns good.

The year 2005 saw five releases ? Kaal, Main Aisa Hi Hoon, Dus, No Entry and Shaadi No.1. In Ankahee (2006), she played a negative role as a beauty queen Kavya Krishna. In Ram Gopal Varma?s Darling (2007), she went a step further in a negative role as the ghost and received good reviews for her performance. She took on the role of a thief in Cash (2007).

Esha was part of One Two Three (2008) based on the Hollywood movie Blame It On The Bellboy. In Hijack (2008) she was the air hostess Saira caught in a terrorist act but the movie was average.
