Biography

Govind Namdeo is an Indian film actor. Govind made his debut as a corrupt cop in David Dhawan?s Shola Aur Shabnam (1992). He has acted in numerous A grade movies.

Govind Namdeo had done three years Diploma course from National School of Drama (NSD) and a short term learning course of Film and Television Institute of Pune, before he began acting. After passing from NSD, he worked as a member of NSD Repertory Company for a decade. During working there, he had done several plays. His first break in Plays is Tughlak directed by Ebrahim Alkaji. His other important plays are- Othello, Cherry Orchard, Aazar Ka Khwab, The Fools, Marco Millions, AndhaYug, and Matta Villas etc.

The actor has played number of supporting character and villainous roles,there is an exclusivity element for this talented actor. In Television industry, Govind Namdeo had done some critically acclaimed roles such as in Parivartan, Ashirwad, Maha Yagna and Virrudh. He also won rave reviews for his portrayal of historic figures such as Mahatma Phule in the Telefilm Ek Baghi Mahatma and as a revolutionary father of Bhim Rao Ambedkar in the film Baba Saheb Ambedkar.

Some of his most notable work has been in films like Bandit Queen, Virasat, Satya, Kachche Dhaage, Mast, Thakshak, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, Pukar, Raju Chacha, Sarfarosh, Satta, Qayamat and Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon.
