Biography

Divya Dutta, who has been in the film industry for more than a decade now, has always been on the sidelines of success. That seems to have changed recently and recognition does not seem so far away anymore.

She did her schooling from Sacred Heart Convent School, Ludhiana. She was first recognized for her work in Shaheed-e-Mohabbat and went on to win more than 25 awards in the film industry, including the Zee Cine Award for Best Supporting Actress for her work in Veer Zaara and the IIFA Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Delhi 6. She has been nominated for the Filmfare and Star Screen Award twice. She also won the Star Sabse Favorite Kaun Award for her role in Welcome to Sajjanpur.

Divya Dutta has acted in more than 60 roles in the Indian film industry, including at least two international films. She can be seen in numerous ads and is also popular in Punjabi cinema

She was seen as Ivy in Rituparno Ghosh?s The Last Year (2008) and in Shyam Benegal?s Welcome to Sajjanpur (2008). She was part of an impressive cast in Delhi 6 (2009). She played the role of Jalebi, an untouchable, who spits abusive language with ?lan.

Dutta is now going international with movies like Jenifer Lynch?s Hissss, Sanyogita ? The Bride in Red which was well-received in France and Haat ? The Weekly Bazaar that received coverage at the Cannes Film Festival.
