Story

Some militants try to kidnap Anita (Reema Sen) in New Zealand, but Major Kaul (Amrish Puri) and his army foil this attempt. All the militants are killed and Anita is saved. Major Kaul comes to Shimla, India for his daughter's wedding. His son Ajay (Sunny Deol) and Neha (Tabu), who teaches in a school, are in love. Major Kaul wants Ajay to work with him but Ajay does not want to leave Shimla and Neha. Ajay knows Neha is a widow but he does not mind it and want to marry her. After a prolonged refusal, Neha's father-in-law (Anupam Kher) agrees for this marriage. Both Ajay and Neha are happy when Neha is kidnapped by the same militants and their leader (Mukesh Rishi) who wants Ajay to go to New Zealand and kidnap Anita and give her to them, in turn they will return Neha to him.

Blind in love Ajay goes to New Zealand. Major Kaul is happy to receive his son and happier to know that his son now will work with him. Ajay and Anita are at logger's head in the beginning but in due course, Anita falls in love with Ajay. Ajay is not interested in Anita but remembers Neha all the time and waits for an opportunity to kidnap Anita. The opportunity comes in the form of Anita's father. He comes to New Zealand with a young man and wants Anita to marry him.

Anita requests Ajay to take away to India. They both run away. Colonel Khan, who had his own doubts about Ajay, confronts them. A fight ensues. Ajay beats up Khan and runs away with Anita. They come to India were Ajay hands over Anita to the Militants and wants Neha back. He is cheated by the militants, beaten and thrown down in the river.

Now the militants want their leader (Ashish Vidyarthi) to be released by the Government of India in exchange of Anita or they will kill her. Government refuses to surrender. Now Ajay is worried for the life of Anita. Militant leader is handed over to the Government of India.
